As I understand it, they did their “dynamic entry” within a couple of hours after he returned from work. I find it hard to believe that they could not have held him incommunicado in booking for an hour or two until they raided the rest of the houses involved. LE agencies across the nation are just too damn eager to use SWAT teams. I saw a case in Dallas on TV where they got a tip that some guy was barricaded in his house at 3:00 AM. The SWAT team showed up and decided to tear gas and storm the house before the neighborhood kids had to go to school. SWAT tear gas grenanded the house, stormed in and drug the stunned homeowner out in his jammies. No barricades or anything else, but it was a “successful” raid. Perhaps once in a great while they could try old school police stuff like phoning the house in this case or arresting Guerena away from home in his case.
Actually, the first two raids were at 9:30am, one at a house in which the police did not even know the occupants of the house nor the habits/routines of the occupants. The other two raids occurred several hours later. After they had killed the brother of the target of their raids. They did not know that Jose Guerena had a job nor that he worked 12 hour shifts at the mine.
Meanwhile, today a few ex Pima County deputies are in deep drug doo-doos with the Feds. This is one corrupt county.
