you know, you had me believing that you were a rational being sincerely attempting to have a discussion with me regarding 'discerning' and how that is different from judgement...until you flat out disparaged my character and insulted me with this:

And before you get all hot under your collar to chastise me for 'telling it like it is', I could have use the issue of abortion and the devaluing of human life as the analogy, but I sensed through my spirit that you would more quickly catch the sexualization analogy and feel the pricking of your soul thereby.

My initial reaction to that sentence and the entire anaolgy was not a 'prickling of my soul' but rather sorrow that you appear to be the typical judgmental, holier-than-thou, log-in-your-own eye Christian. But then I would be guilty of judging you as you clearly have judged me.

Therefore I will ignore your insulting motiviation and address what you said, which does make sense and has given me a starting point for study. (Daniel)

I will say that you are certainly entitled to your opinion. I would also point out that neither protagonist in the book engages in pre-marital sex. Both are virgins until they are married and there is lot of discussion between them on that issue.

I take your points and can understand what you are saying.

However I don't choose to be mislead by books, music and societies' self-appointed leaders regarding the nature of God, man, Good and evil.

We will both go our way and one or both of us may find out we were wrong...then again, one of both of us may find out we were right.

It's all speculation and taken on faith at this point.

I assumed you to be an adult, thus someone who had gone through the tugs of sexual lust in your youth, as most of us normal humans do. Having gone through such expereinces in your youth, you ought retain a familiarity with the tug and the means to deal with that tug so that it does not overwhelm your consciousness. With Bill’sinkEmperor’Clinton, the means to control his lusts seemed to have never taken hold. I was not putting you in that category, rather I was assuming you had dealt with this segment of ‘maturing’ and could make a quick application in the analogizing. Had I chosen abortion, it is iffy that you would have been through an abortion experience to the degree I was seeking for the application of an analogy.
