Bidens holiday in Hamptons
Last Updated: 12:42 AM, May 31, 2011
Vice President Joe Biden and his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, spent Memorial Day weekend in the Hamptons at the home of Internet pioneer and gay, bisexual and transgender-rights activist David Bohnett. The Bidens stayed at Bohnett's sprawling Southampton estate and were seen lunching at popular 75 Main on Saturday before a relaxed veep happily accompanied his wife as she browsed at Alice & Olivia and Calypso.
A spy told us, "He had three Secret Service agents inside the restaurant, including one watching in the kitchen while the chefs made Mr. Biden's chopped salad."
On Sunday, Biden was spotted on the beach while a huge security presence was visible at Bohnett's First Neck Lane estate. Tech entrepreneur Bohnett, a large contributor to the Democratic National Committee, is a family friend of the Bidens. He founded GeoCities, is a trustee of amfAR and chairman of the David Bohnett Foundation.
A White House spokesman said, "I can confirm the Bidens are staying at the private residence of David Bohnett," adding they were there from Friday until yesterday.

In its original form, site users selected a "city" in which to place their web pages. The "cities" were named after real cities or regions according to their content for example, computer-related sites were placed in "SiliconValley" and those dealing with entertainment were assigned to "Hollywood" hence the name of the site. Ten years after Yahoo! bought GeoCities, the company announced that it would shut down the United States GeoCities service on October 26, 2009, and GeoCities websites actually became unavailable the next day.
There were at least 38 million user-built pages on GeoCities before it was shut down. The GeoCities Japan version of the service is still available.
In January 1999, near the peak of the dot-com bubble, GeoCities was purchased by Yahoo! for $3.57 billion in stock, with Yahoo! taking control on May 28. The acquisition proved extremely unpopular; users began to leave en masse in protest at the new terms of service put out by Yahoo! for GeoCities.
this is at least their second vacation at this sickos luxurious retreat
guess they enjoy being fawned over by this sicko - and it’s free
I’m sure they all remembered the sacrifices of our military during Memorial Day (sarc)
First Zero brings his own chefs on trips, now the VP has secret service agents watching while his salad is prepared. Has this alway been the practice or are they suddenly acting like medieval kings, having official “tasters”?
LOL! I have an image of Chevy Chase stuck in my brain...
I thought Joe Biden was just a simple man that took the train home to Delaware every night to live the simple life....
So Bohnett made his mega-fortune the same way Mark Cuban did - by peddling a billion-dollar dog with fleas to Yahoo at the top of the bubble. At least GeoCities worked. Cuban's company Broadcast.com was a technolgical disaster and was dismantled within 18 months by enraged Yahoo staff, several of whom I worked with later.
Oh no, the VP is sure to come down with a bad case of cooties after this!
There is no cure for cooties. Only a select few like that weird girl from second grade and Magic Johnson are able to survive living with the disease.
