If you are among those who have been waiting for a true replacement for Howard Dean, whose comic stylings as DNC chairman delighted one and all, know that the search is over. Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Shultz has been at the job only since early April, and she is already providing comic relief on a magnitude previously imaginable.

Last Thursday, Little Debbie contributed to the immigration debate by revealing that the GOP wants to make it “a crime” for people to enter the country illegally. A crime — imagine! Earlier the same week, she shared her considered opinion that if it were up to the Republicans, who opposed spending tax dollars to bail out GM and Chrysler, “we would be driving foreign cars.” Take three guesses what kind of car the congresswoman drives. I’ll give you a hint: It’s not American-made.

If you sense that a theme is emerging (“Republicans are evil, blame Republicans”), you are right. On Sunday, Wasserman Shultz appeared on Face the Nation, where she used those same well-honed analytical skills to explain to host Harry Smith the Democrats’ plan for rescuing Medicare from impending bankruptcy...

As I've said before, the democrats “plan” is to not do a thing until medicare is literally days from insolvency, then use a crisis mentality like was done with the stimulus to force through massive taxes on income and private pension accounts. Democrats have been drooling to get their fingers into 401K’s and IRA’s for years, but they realize they would need a crisis of epic proportions to get away with it. Imagine a situation were “granny” was weeks from losing her medicare and in rides the democrats saying the only way to save “granny” is a one time 5% “assessment” on private pensions, that will keep medicare solvent for another decade. Of course nothing is ever “one time” with democrats and will probably be a first step to down the road “nationalizing” all private pension funds to save social security, but they know they need to boil the frog slowly, and this will be the first step.
