Gov. Perry signs sonogram bill into law

"AUSTIN, Texas — Gov. Rick Perry today ceremonially signed House Bill 15, which requires a woman to have a sonogram before electing to have an abortion to ensure she is fully informed before making such an impactful decision. The governor designated the measure an emergency item for the 2011 Legislative Session. He was joined by Sen. Dan Patrick and Rep. Sid Miller at the signing ceremony.

“Every life lost to abortion is a tragedy we all must work together to prevent, and I commend Rep. Miller and Sen. Patrick for their hard work on this significant legislation,” Gov. Perry said. “This important bill will ensure that every Texas woman seeking an abortion has all the facts about the life she is carrying, and understands the devastating impact of such a life-changing decision.”

I've been a Sarah supporter since 2008, but I am concerned today hearing the news that Obama just nominated Morgan Christen to the 9th Circuit Court , the same Morgan Christen who had involvement during private practice with Planned Parenthood...........and the same Morgan Christen that Sarah Palin selected for the Alaskan Supreme Court.

Perry plan is outright sexist. The potential fathers should have mandatory sonograms as well. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander.

House Bill 15 requires a physician to perform a sonogram 24 hours before an abortion, except in cases of medical emergency. Under this legislation, a physician is required to display the sonogram image, explain the image and make the fetal heartbeat audible.

From what I understand when the gov of Alaska puts someone on the Alaska Supreme Court they are given a list of maybe 3 names and they have to pick someone from that list. Maybe someone else more familiar with Alaska politics could comment on that.

Until Roe v Wade is overturned, any policy such as what Gov Perry has signed is a GREAT thing. I want Planned Parenthood defunded and the Government completely OUT of funding any abortion, anywhere.

I don’t see it as any different than most men yet they bring it up every time his name is mentioned. Sheesh!
