"Put yourself in the homeowner's shoes as someone breeches the door with a loud bang and several people rush in. How would you identify anyone in that split second? What would you do? What would you do?"
“What would you do? What would you do?”
If you were in Indiana, nothing that would be legal.
After reading all of the stuff, and being a homeowner, I’d fire the AR.
They are likely to kill me anyway, and, as an obligation to society, I should take one with me.
Better yet, two, since the wife is at risk also. On the other hand, she has her own AR...
I’ve not yet assigned a value to our zoo, a pair of cats and a pair of mutts, but they too will need to be avenged, since animals are routinely shot by the cops. Since I haven’t taught them to shoot, that leaves us.
It is really an ugly world where you need to protect yourself from the people who are supposed to protect you.
Just my take, YMMV.
Exactly. If they're both in impossible situations, the homeowner wins. He's the one on his own property, and not the one who chose the situation. Second, Mr. Stupid Lawyer, listen to what you have just said -- if a certain enforcement tactic has a tendency to create "what would you do" situations with bad outcomes, STOP DOING IT!
