it's 2011; the need for a phone book is at an all-time low.

However, I stockpile them for the Coming Hard Times.

I agree with you. Most uses for the phone book now are for looking up a business. You can’t look up cell numbers in there. I get more phone books now each year than ever before. I usually get three different ones.

Hadn’t thought of that - I’ve been adding a little Duct Tape (can do anything with that) to em and making furniture. Throw a blanket over it add a few cushions - mancave paradise :)

Now, thanks to you, I know that I can use my furniture for something else when it may become necessary :)

Good idea! My mom told me that during WWII due to rationing in her country, she had to use a cloth, and then wash it out afterwards. I think I would prefer the yellow pages.

They also burn pretty well. I use them after a fire has been going and I have a good bed of coals. Then put in two smaller logs and place the phone book on those. It is important to heat it from underneath. The top pages will burn one by one, but then it will start to turn to cinder. But if heated through from the bottom the cinder will all burn to ash. I have seen larger books put out heat for hours.
