generally prove he can win something before he can be taken seriously as a presidential candidate

Soooo, winning something is now considered to having the credentials to be a valid presidential candidate?

Whatever happened to accomplishments?

Obama had NO ACCOMPLISHMENTS either as a State or US Senator and how's he working out for ya?

Pretty much, yes. Other than a couple generals (who won wars), all of our Presidents have proven they can win elections on the local or state level first. Running for office itself takes skill. If it didn't, I could think tens of thousands of great conservatives who I wish could run for President.

I think your just being naive here. Again, running for office is a skill in and of itself. This is why tens of thousands of very accomplished and wonderful conservatives can just be presidential candidates. Not just anyone can run and have any chance of winning. Oh sure, people say they want a regular person to run, but that regular person will get buried in debates against a polished politician. Winning elections takes political skill, Cain has not demonstrated he has that at all.

Yes, Hussein is awful. But your proving my point. Being a capable politician itself is half the battle. Being right isn't enough. Obama is a skilled, polished, savvy and clever politician. He would destroy Cain in any debates.

Cain can be taken seriously after he puts in his time on the local and state level and demonstrates he has the ability to actually win elections.
