Scott Brown a 'no' on Ryan budget
The Hill ^ | 05/23/11 | Jordan Fabian

Posted on 05/23/2011 5:45:08 AM PDT by nhwingut

GOP Sen. Scott Brown (Mass.) said Monday he won't support Rep. Paul Ryan's (R-Wis.) budget when it comes up for a vote in the Senate.

Brown, a centrist who is running for reelection in 2012, said that Ryan's plan helped jumpstart a necessary debate, but that Ryan's Medicare reforms go too far.

"While I applaud Ryan for getting the conversation started, I cannot support his specific plan — and therefore will vote 'no' on his budget," he wrote in a Politico op-ed.

"Our country is on an unsustainable fiscal path," he added. "But I do not think it requires us to change Medicare as we know it. We can work inside of Medicare to make it more solvent."

So, Brown is part of the problem and not part of the solution.

Remember when he was the Chris Christie of his day—and Freepers were ready to elect him president?

OK, it’s official

a “centrist” is a Republican who votes like a democrat, right?

Or someone who campaigns like a republican and votes like a democrat?

Worse than a joke. I had no expectations that he was going to vote with us on everything. I thought he’d be with us on something. He is more of an Olympia Snowe than I think any of us had imagined. I thought he would stick with us in at least one area, but he has shown to be with the democrats on foreign policy, social and fiscal. I could care less whether he wins reelection at this stage.

Of all issues, Obamacare opposition is what got him elected. He could at least stick with us on medical issues.

"We can work inside of Medicare to make it more solvent."

Oh really? Then show us the plan Scotty. Show us how you can do this. Or is this all just political posturing?

I wouldn’t vote for Brown or Christie for president.

Both are RINO’s.

I would really have a Kennedy than Scott Brown.

If we had a Kennedy we would know how he would vote everytime.

Scott Brown just rode the Tea Party to a win. He is not a Tea party candidate

What did we really expect he is a Mass hole! The people of Mass are so liberal they would probably shoot him if he was a real conservative, that is if any of them had a gun.

I'm sure he realizes that by now which is why he's sucking up to the people who will be around in MA. He's going to need a job after he gets defeated or primaried out.
