Why should Ailes be any different? He is a GOP elitist. Christie and Jeb are right up his alley. Of course he is going to move away from the Tea Party. Its all one big club at the top and nobody wants to get edged out of the club. Is anybody really shocked?
We watch Fox with the same jaundiced eye we watch any other cable news channel. We get most of our news off the internet.
The story purports to report that Murdock’s sons want more to do with the corporation and are, by nature, far more left-leaning than Ailes is allowed to be in programming. One son was just promoted, in fact, so the era of Aisles as Republican kingmaker (per this article) is coming to an end as the Murdocks go left and become CNN on steroids, I suppose.
What they can’t figure out is that the Tea Party is a spontaneous movement, that people donate directly to candidates, and that many of the freshmen in this Congress have stuck together and bucked the “wet noodle” leadership.
I agree with you GG. The political class doesn’t get it. They just don’t get it... Meanwhile, Michael Steele negotiates with MSNBC. Classic...
This is so obvious as to be laughable.
Obaaama is scared sh*tless of Beck and of Palin, and to a lesser extent, Fox News.
This is an attempt by the lavender cabal (David Brooks and Media Matters) and the Cass ("infiltrate the right") Sunstein to lessen the influence of Fox, while sowing discord among the right.
Check here for starters.
Cheers!
Happy analogy: For generations, the rich descendants of Alcmaeon of Athens swelled around the city acting the snob and playing God with ordinary Athenians, many of whom had loans from the rich "first family" and so were in the palms of their hands. They played with people, wrote the laws the way they pleased, and rolled all the dung downhill .....
..... until they got thrown out on their wealthy, well-coiffed and -coutured asses. Thereafter, the only time the Athenians saw them was when they went to the Olympic Games. There the Alcmaeonidae would be, still looking wealthy, but their clothing and haircuts, done the old Athenian rich-guy style, looking a little more faded and out-of-date with every Olympiad. Eventually they just sort of disappeared, and nobody noticed.
Sounds good to me.
