"Anything is news" - Abbie Hoffman
Went to church tonight. The pastor held up his wrist and, reading his watch, said “Well, it’s after 6 and we’re all still here. For some of you...this is good news. For others...well I guess this might be very BAD news for you....”
Only God knows when the world ends. The Son of God doesn’t know and neither do the angels in heaven. So, it’s crazy to suggest an 89 year old guy on the radio knows when it ends.
The day’s not over yet here on the west coast so I’m biting my nails. /s
Somehow I knew they'd still be there tomorrow, waiting for me.
Is it wrong to be disappointed?
2011, 1994: Thee False Prophet Hell bound Camping will now face the next event date which he cannot escape: God’s WRATH for all his false doctrine and false prophecy.
What I'm saying is, it's wrong that we ever even heard of this guy, but I do understand why we did. We're stuck with what we got, I guess.
Judgment day is not a dud, H. camping, a false prophet, is a dud, as was G. Miller and others before him.
Mr. Camping needs to repent of his sin. He has brought more reproach upon the name of Christ, has hindered the work of the gospel, and has served to leave men complacent in their sin unto the real judgment day.
He does not represent authentic Christianity.
Camping was so ignorant of Bible prophecy that he even had the details of the tribulation unrecognizable.. What ever happened to 7 Years? And the 3 ½ Years mid trib events? Camping seemed to make up out of the blue his own scenario, where from Rapture to Judgment day was only 7 months.
Nope. It also means that it's not going to happen. The Bible says He will come like a thief in the night, meaning we don't know when and it will happen when we least expect it but when it does happen believers and non-believers alike will bear witness to the Son of God, and believers and non-believers alike will all be on bent knee proclaiming Him the Son of God.
Camping’s proof that dispensationalism is a crock.
Oh, come on - everyone who’s anyone knows that Judgment Day is scheduled for December 21, 2012.
How did these folks miss the memo?
I’m not part of his following but there is a detail which may have been overlooked (maybe even by Camping himself).
If his timetable is a very long one and extends over 2400 years, then his “day” length is almost two years long. His calculations could be dead on but that “last day” would then take almost two years to unfold.
Looking at the world situation and the man in the White House at present, does it really strain belief that the end of days could be within two years of today? Just a thought.
No, it proves Camping is a Nut and a scam artist. Those of us who believe the Church will be Raptured were not shaken by this. And we were not taken in by this either. We were to first to shout warnings about this guy.
That's a lot to lay on one man. Jesus and his Gospel are quite robust, despite constant attack from then to now. I understand your point, but perhaps the mere fact that he brought the words JUDGMENT DAY out into the square of a godless public is a service of some kind (since his error is quickly corrected via Scripture, as 3boysdad pointed out above).
I stand by what I said. Everyone, from believers to non-believers already realize Camping is a nut. It doesn’t need to be repeated.
No rapture for me thanks, I’m opting out - you guys go. I want to stay and fight with Isreal however I am able. We all die. If God can endure the pain, then so shall I.
“...perhaps the mere fact that he brought the words JUDGMENT DAY out into the square of a godless public is a service of some kind”
That is true. Neither Christ nor the gospel can fail to save its object: the sheep given Him of the Father.
It is Camping and those lead astray by him who are to be pitied. At the same time Camping is responsible before God.
Nor to such follies make the labor of the gospel any easier, any more than Mr. Baker and his wife Tammy Fay and their gold plated dog dishes of a generation ago.
It puts a barrier in the way of the Word of the Gospel, which the power of God can and does over come, but is is a serious sin.
“...perhaps the mere fact that he brought the words JUDGMENT DAY out into the square of a godless public is a service of some kind”
He brought it out into the square for mocking, that’s all.
Try warning people seriously about the Judgement Day after this, Camping’s made it look like a big joke.
