Obama's borders Caused 60 Years of War
The American Thinker ^ | May 20, 2011 | James Lewis

Posted on 05/20/2011 4:19:27 AM PDT by Scanian

Obama has just given an eager world his fantasy answer for the last sixty years of Arab-Israel conflict. The Great One's long-awaited solution is for Israel to pull back to the cease-fire lines of the 1948 War of Independence, or what Obama, in a moment of historical amnesia, calls "the 1967 borders." People have fought and died over those borders since 1949, not 1967. Make that sixty years of regular warfare.

Take a quick glance at the Green Line on the map, and see if you can honestly answer this question:

"Would I want my family and children to live on the scary side of that lengthy, convoluted and meandering border, with Hamas and Hezbollah trying to breach the fence every night with knife-wielding maniacs and Grad rocket launchers?"

If you answered that question honestly, you cannot be a liberal. You know too much.

However, if you think the answer is "Yes, I'll do anything for peace, including putting my kids' lives on the line," then you are sucker bait for the most delusional political party in American history. And that includes the Bull Moose Party.

Robert Frost wrote that "Good fences make good neighbors." It's also true that "bad fences make bad neighbors." The Green Line is militarily dreadful, as the map shows. Obama's proposal is therefore strategically destructive.

What's worse, by raising impossible expectations in the Islamic world, expectations that are bound to be disappointed, Obama will end up making things much worse rather than much better. We'll be very lucky if a major Middle East war doesn't break out in the next few years, among emerging nuclear powers.

Time for “YES, AGAIN”.
Let’s give the Arabs and Nazis a “Mulligan”

Note how Obama's characterization "Arab Spring" suits that analogy (based on Merkel's support for Obama's push for '67 Israel border) Germany's Nazi's waking from their hibernation.

So what else is new?

Obama throws Israel under the bus.

Again.

And again.

When will the Jews ever learn not to trust Obama?

Why do Catholics? Why do Baptists? This kind of snarky comment amazes me. It is found on every Israel thread. Israelis did not vote for Obama - AMERICANS did. The majority of Jews live in Israel, and there Obama has NEVER been trusted.

“Obama’s proposal is therefore strategically destructive.”

If this is “O’s” last, best position on the ME, regarding our long standing allies, I am certain that, no matter what else he does right in his administration (if ANYTHING)...THIS establishes a permanent benchmark for abjectly reckless, maladroit diplomacy and assures America’s eternal shame and contempt for him… personally and professionally.

This position is SO incompatible with American interests that it is stupefying. To say it defies logic hardly conveys how vulnerable and betrayed WE ALL feel on hearing it.

There are a lot of AMERICAN Jews.

And foolishly they have supported Obama.

Should those Jews then be considered traitors?

Just like Obama should be considered a traitor to the US.

That is such a load of crap. Islam the religion of murder is what caused 60 years of war.

This kind of idiotic comments that I've seen on Israel threads the last few days, amazes me.

Are you saying that Israel is a Catholic state? A Baptist state? Jeez.

Islam the religion of murder is what caused 60 years of war.

1400 years of war would be more accurate.

More jews live in the U.S. than Israel. Further, most american jews are liberal and vote democrat. Nothing “snarky” about it.

Well, your right about that. I was speaking to what Obama was talking about, Israel.

Before you attempt to march all the Jews off to the ovens, you might want to re-think your comments above. Also, you could be a bit more obvious and call them, Joooos.

God knows who the genetic ancestors of the Israelites really are. Most if not all of them are already in Israel or soon will be. The rest who call themselves Jews around the world are not. The true genetic descendents of the twelve tribes have been called back to the land God promised them in preparation for the last seven years of His promised time. Don’t expect those who only think and call themselves Jews to have a heart for Israel, they will not.

Has anyone ever proposed that Jerusalem become a world heritage site and have tri-religion governance to protect the historic religious sites of all?
