Why would anyone visit that crime ridden, corrupt,and dirty place.
The island resorts are compounds built to protect vacationers from the locals including the local cops and local officials. You are warned by the resort to not visit the local towns without an escort.

OBTW, in Jamaica they hate whites.
OTOH, St. Maartens is a great place to go. Run by the Dutch and the French since the seventeeth century. ‘Nuff said.

I just returned from a missions cruise to Jamaica. There were 3000 of us (black, white,yellow, and red). As a result there were 21,000 plus decisions for Christ. Jamaica realized the problem and teamed up with evangelist to go into the schools and prisons for this effort. I only saw one offensive gesture, and that was while traveling through Montego Bay on a tour.
