We're getting closer to the point where athletes at every level will have no issue with the public knowing they're homosexual. As of now, we've yet to have an active American athlete in team sports come out of the closet, but stories like the one Dana O'Neil so fantastically crafted and presented will help us get to that point.

Villanova's Will nSherida is the focal point of the story and the latest inspiration to in-the-closet athletes everywhere. Sheridan playedn at the university until 2007. In that time, his teammates knew he was gay. That's kind of the point: they knew, didn't care and kept it a secret. Sheridan wasn't necessarily afraid of the backlash from the public. It's now gotten to the point where Sheridan considers his sexual orientation so matter-of-fact, he wanted to share just how easy coming out of the closet can be for an athlete.

So he became a jock so he could shower with the boys.

How sweet.

I wonder if global warming is causing all this gayness.

I’d love to tell these gays who keep ‘comming out’: I DON’T CARE.

There are athletes in all professional sports that are gay.

Most all are not publicly out of the closet.

The first pro athlete I can recall who announced he was gay was Roman Gabriel, quarterback of the LA Rams in the NFL.

Roman Gabriel? He’s been married 3 times, has 5 children. There was a fake-story urban legend about him and Jim Nabors in the 70”s, but I don’t remember hearing about him coming out of the closet.

They all can come out till the cows come home.

Doesn’t make their perversion any more acceptable to most Americans.

“We’re getting closer to the point where athletes at every level will have no issue with the public knowing they’re homosexual.”

And a great deal of the public could also care less, much less desire to know. If one wants attention from me, play on the field. I could care less what what one does in the home or bathhouse, that’s none of my business.

Who???

As someone who is into BIG EAST BASKETBALL I have never heard of him on the Nova's team.

Anyway, with these people coming out nowadays it'd be news if a 13 year old goes on the new to announce it. Who cares if he is GAY or not - it doesn't affect my life one IOTA!!
