I’m surprised this wasn’t swept under the rug under diplomatic immunity. I wonder if this was some kind of set up by people who knew he liked to do this kind of thing.

He didn’t have diplomatic immunity according to FOX, not a diplomat.

It could well be a set-up, but to get a pol in this position with this type of honeytrap, you have to know his/her predilections first.

Kahn’s prior behavior is consistent with this report.

As for DI: I think that applies to the IMF only when on official business. It is reported that he was in NYC on personal business.

Me too. He must of ticked off Obama... that's my only working theory at this point.

The IMF refused to claim immunity as this was a private trip to NYC. In fact, he paid for his hotel with a personal credit card. It was reported he has a daughter going to Columbia University, so he may have been there to see her before flying back to Europe?

Per article, he was in NY for personal, not business reason. For instance, he paid his room with his personal credit card, not business card. For this reason, they couldn’t invoke diplomatic immunity. If he were doing this in D.C., where he seemed to have some business meetings, the story would have been different.

Oui, certainment, a “set-up” as you Americans like to say.
In Europe, we will use the magic words, “ J’accuse”.
Meme chose.

No big deal. This guy was an overachieving sociopath. He was easy target for setup. Wanted to run for President against Company's asset Sarkozy.

The question is - The Company or DGSE?

I hate guys like this. When I was a child my mother worked as a hotel maid. One night a guest made advances and she got out of the room unscathed only because he was old and she was young and athletic. Some rich men think the housekeeper is part of the room rate. I wonder how many women he’s run over.
