War crimes prosecutors seek Gadhafi's arrest

The International Criminal Court prosecutor asked judges Monday to issue arrest warrants for Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi and two other senior members of his regime, accusing them of committing crimes against humanity by targeting civilians in a crackdown against rebels.

Luis Moreno-Ocampo says Gadhafi, his son Seif al-Islam Gadhafi and intelligence chief Abdullah al-Sanoussi ordered, planned and participated in illegal attacks.

He said Gadhafi's forces attacked civilians in their homes, shot at demonstrators with live ammunition, shelled funeral processions and deployed snipers to kill people leaving mosques.

Judges must now evaluate the evidence before deciding whether to confirm the charges and issue international arrest warrants.

"The case is now in their hands," Moreno-Ocampo told reporters at a press conference.

The warrants are not expected to have any immediate impact on the war in Libya, but they could make it harder for their targets to end the conflict by going into exile. Because the Security Council ordered the ICC investigation, all U.N. member states would be obliged to arrest him if he ventures into their territory.

Moreno-Ocampo said he had evidence of Gadhafi issuing orders, his son organizing the recruitment of mercenaries and of Al-Sanousi's direct involvement in attacks on demonstrators.

The ICC is a politically partisan, extranational rogue element, masquerading as a legal entity. Perhaps its personnel should be taken into custody and tried for subversion, inciting rebellion and all the resultant homicides. Its real function is to undermine the status and integrity of national sovereignty. The ICC is in fact a greater threat than any single minor nation.

I smell collusion with obama (and the unqualified journalist Samantha Power), similar to the use of the ICTY by clinton in 1999 in his war against Serbia.

These international criminal “courts” are political institutions posing as judicial ones. And they were designed by the Chicago muslim fifth columnist Cherif Bassiouni and his New World Order collaborators.

If and when we Americans finally get a real President (NOT a NWO tool), we should get out of and stop funding all of these “courts”. We should also prosecute Bassiouni and all other muslim fifth columnists for treason. The “courts” will go out of business, and we’ll all be better off!!!!

Luis Moreno-Ocampo is another NWO tool.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luis_Moreno_Ocampo

He charged the Kikuyu side with perpetrating the post-election violence in Kenya, NOT obama’s cousin and the Luo muslims who slaughtered Orthodox Christians in Nairobi.

SHAME on him, and on all the other phony “human rightsers”!!!!

worth repeating:

The ICC is a politically partisan, extranational rogue element, masquerading as a legal entity. Perhaps its personnel should be taken into custody and tried for subversion, inciting rebellion and all the resultant homicides. Its real function is to undermine the status and integrity of national sovereignty. The ICC is in fact a greater threat than any single minor nation.

Libya and U.S. do not recognize this kangaroo court, but Canada, Sweden,France, UK, Italy and some other countries who attacked Libya do. Because they are afraid of their leaders being dragged to ICC, they used Soros network (Cherif Basouni) to indcict Libyan leader.

ICC is setting up the illegal precedent with this incdictment -they want to have mandate and excercise judical powers over countries who are not part of ICC treaty.

ICC is ILLEGAL and rotten to the core.

No, the US is not a signatory of the Rome Treaty that established the ICC, as the result of President Bush’s action. This has not formally been changed.

But obama has expressed his desire to cooperate with the ICC, and (almost certainly together with Hillary and Samantha Power) has been using it when it suits his purposes.

Here is a relevant, and recent, article.

Note the insight into the “character”—or lack thereof—of Luis Moreno-Ocampo in this article. His power-hungry arrogance is typical of Hague kangaroo-”court” prosecutors, as we all know very well.

http://www.democracynow.org/2009/2/10/former_un_human_rights_rapporteur_cherif

Cherif Bassiouni, professor of law at DePaul University and president emeritus of the International Human Rights Law Institute. He is the former United Nations human rights investigator in Afghanistan. In 2005 he was forced out of the United Nations under pressure from the US just days after he released a report criticizing the US for committing human rights abuses.

...Recently, Cherif has spoken out in support of the Gaza flotilla...
