Your Mission: Capture bin Laden. Just KILL HIM first!
Coach is Right ^ | 5/13/2011 | Doug Book

The flood of conflicting “official” stories detailing the death of Osama bin Laden has become almost farcical.

But perhaps we’re not being told what DID happen in Abbottabad because no one at the White House wishes to admit what was SUPPOSED to happen. That is, divulge the real objective.

Regarding apparent conflicts in the story, consider the following (I've posted this on another thread on FR):

In a real operation, how it went down and in what sequence and who-shot-who and when and where, those things cannot be scripted, no matter how much you rehearse. Bad guys rarely follow your plan. That makes accurately reporting moments after a very difficult, and downright intense engagement, impossible.

So, why the apparent conflicting reports? Not surprising to me, as I think it is easily explained:

Occam’s Razor – the simplest explanation is the most likely correct one.

The White House has to say something, they can’t help themselves, regardless of how many facts they have (and they feel a great need to fill white space of the narrative).

They are reporting what they have been told initially by the SEALS and filling in gaps, and as more facts come to light, the initial narrative needs changing, as well as subsequent narratives. It is the nature of military operations that facts will emerge and the description of what actually happened evolves.

We are still studying operations that happened thousands of years ago, as well as operations that happened in WWI, II, and in Iraq and Afghanistan.

With a team of 40, how long will it take to comb the data and accurately build a detailed picture of the sequence of events; account for each shot, who engaged who and it what order. With 40 separate eye-witness reports, I am sure you will agree it will take a heck of a long time. How many had helmet cams? And of those that didn't, how do we account for their shots and actions in the time-line? It isn't easy and it takes time.

Combat operations are quick, violent and confusing. Figuring out what happened, when and how and in what sequence, is not easy. In fact, to do so within hours, days or even a week or more, is downright impossible. Combat veterans here on FR will agree.

The White House briefer should have forcefully responded to questions with: “At this time, we understand. . . “ or “Initial reports are. . .”

The fact that they only gave few qualifiers and filled in the gaps to make themselves look good indicates they are incompetent, not liars.

Again, the administration in this case is not lying, they are self-centered incompetents.

Hey, in “The Unit” they always know exactly what will happen and what happened!

;)

(I know it is romanticized but I really dig that show).

I think it was a kill mission first.
I think that is what their orders were.

The video (cameras)the Seals carried would resolve this.

Want to bet they won't let anyone in the Senate see the video.

For an administration so adversed to water boarding.
Remember them saying even if the information would help find a nuke.

In a situation like this, the less said the better.

“During the hours after mid-night local time, in an operation in Abbotabad, Pakistan, acting on intel developed over time, U.S. forces launched a surprise raid that resulted in the death of Osama Bin Laden.”

That is all we will have to say at this time.

Hours later...

“DNA testing and identification completed, his body prepared according to Muslim ritual, Laden’s body was buried at sea.”

That is all we will have to say at this time.

You start telling every nitty gritty detail before a full after action report is developed and disbursed to the President, and you’re bound to have problems. It was idiotic to try to explain things early on.

This then is the model for how this White House operates.

Fly off the handle taking credit. Get it wrong. Spend days if not weeks, months, or years fixing it..., never actually achieving that outcome.

“Buttheads rule!” “Yeah Man!” “Whoopie, Obama Rocks!” “Yeah dude!” “Lets party...”

Dumb asses...

Kill mission makes perfect sense to me.

The last thing I wanted was some public trial where this guy and his people could game the system.

Conflicting reports=dis-information...why do so many feel entitled to an explanation, we don’t really have a need to know.

The hypocrisy of this administration is my point.
It might make perfect sense but not with what the Obama administration has been saying.

Remember: No water boarding? Gitmo is too hard of a prison? Military trials are not justified?

This action. Even though it was correct. Was not in line with the democrats narrative.

Hypocrisy is the constant in the Leftist camp.

I know that polls don’t seem to indicate it, but the populace knows this guy for what he is.

Reagan’s victory over Carter was “unexpected”. November of 2012 is coming up fast. (not fast enough for you and I, but fast)

Watch for another “unexpected” outcome.

Hope so.

Hope and Change.

Just like all of their green propaganda. Obama and his wife use AF#1 as if it's a bicycle. I thought we were in the computer age where travel wasn't as necessary.

BTW. The current Prime Minister flies commercially.
