Looks like another 2008 election shaping up.

I see noone to vote for. If we can't do better than what is being shown right now, Obama wins...

If the GOP does nominate Gingrich, they can run the same banner they ran with the McCain nomination:

We want to lose! We want to lose again!

==

On Monday, AP ran an article about Gingrich's announcement. Notice the first, short, one-sentence paragraph [emphasis added by me]:

The MSM and Team Obama are salivating at the thought of Gingrich winning the GOP nomination. They will skewer him. And he will probably give them as big a victory as McCain gave them in the Electoral vote.

We need the RETREAD who gave us NAFTA, WTO and Bill Clinton's second term.

Two politicians lost their jobs as a result of the Clinton Impeachment:

Who did NOT lost his job as a result of the 'Clinton' impeachment?

Answer: Bill Clinton

The MSM computers are running overtime to dig up all of Gingrich's old baggage.

I see noone to vote for.

In some of the early straw-type polls listing most of the GOP wannabes, 'Other' was getting 80% of the vote.

From what I see, 'Other' still is getting most of the vote.

Most in the field of wannabes just do not bring much inspiration and enthusiasm to the race.

Where RINO’s are concerned; one RINO is as good or as bad as another.

If a RINO wins the primary...What are we to do?

Very Scary!

I liked what Newt said on Hannity but doubt his actions would be similar.

Yep. We've been down that road before with Newt. Don't fall for it.

“Win or lose, Gingrich is owed much by the Republican Party.” PUKE!

No Bob Doles , no McCain's!

Nobody that is “owed” anything!

Nobody who feels they are “next in line”!

We need someone who will dismantle the centralized government that we have become enslaved to period!

Attributes needed:

Love of God and the constitution that was adopted by the founders with the basic simple principles of God in mind.

Character - Ethical not a cheater or deceiver.

Humility - in recognizing why this country should be great and that it is not all about him.

Strength in powerful persuasion in helping people to understand that this will take an effort and some sacrifice.

Confidence builder one who will inspire America that they want to be a great country and not afraid to talk about a distinct American culture and not worry about the “political correctness” sensitivities of the few over the many.

“Gingrich is owed”

As were those losers of the past, Dole and McCain. Will they EVER learn?

Newt Gingivitus will add a lot to the debate. This is healthy for the GOP in the same way Ron Paul and Trump are assets. Hard to say if any will gain traction but almost anything can happen in the next six months. Glad he jumped in—lets hear what he has to say and how he says it. If a Republicans wins, and this is still not a done deal, Newt will be needed in the cabinate. One good speech, one good issue, one story line is all that is needed to win the slot as standard bearer for the GOP. It took Reagan two times to gain the position and many thought he was a weak vessel—washed up actor—right wing nut yet he turned out to be great.

Comparing Newt to Dole and McCain is unfair. Newt is smarter but I agree with your larger point. He's a has-been cut from that mold.

I do welcome his voice to the larger debate, however. He might have some good ideas.

I'm glad someone else has noticed Democrats habitually push new blood. The GOP seem to do a poor job of bringing along fresh talent.

......I do welcome his voice to the larger debate.....

I agree with that concept. It will be interesting to see if he lays out a 25 or 50 year plan of action that outlines a conservative future. He has a better grasp of the long term than most if not all and by doing so can prove his worth.

Well you backed off of your first sentence right quick.

I don’t want to fight about it but how is comparing Newt to Dole and McCain unfair?

They’re all RINOS, may I remind of that infamou commercial with Newt sitting with Nancy Pelosi, declaring global warming as a certainity? This makes Newt WORSE than Dole and McCain in my book.

Also, I don’t recall McCain endorsing the Fuzzyscava lady in New York.

Once upon a time Newt had some political capital. He squandered it all on a couple of stupid moves and it’s going to hurt him.

Newt IS a very good communicator but those who held their nose and voted for McCain, NOT such a good talker, are surely not going to jump cartwheels going to the polls to vote for Newt.

It ain’t rocket science.

Way I figger, Newt thinks it’s his last chance at the presidency so he’s throwing away his money. He’s not going to get the pub nod. This is not the era of Dole, who was just a payback for past services, let’s get real.

If Obama wins in 2012 it’ll be chaos. Obamacare will go into effect, you can believe we’ll have some kind of health insurance mandate, the unions will take over the world, all borders will be opened with free transportation to anybody wants to come into the country, “rich” people will have 95% of their monies taken in taxes, 401(k’s) will become the property of the gubmint, anybody will be able to buy a house...existing home owners will be taxed to pay for it....my mind shudders how horrific it will be if Obama gets elected again.

We can’t risk it on Newt....he’s got so much baggage.

You read too much into the first sentence. It was tongue-in-cheek. Come in off the ledge.
