Swiss daredevil Yves Rossy has already flown his homemade jet-propelled wingsuit over the Swiss Alps and across the English Channel. Now the real-life Iron Man is hoping to soar through the Grand Canyon.
Rossy, 51, plans to jump from a helicopter near Eagle Point early Friday and fly westward along the canyon's rim, his team said Wednesday.

So what is it? Is he flying through the canyon(below the rim), or is he flying along the rim? Nice work, Journalist. It’s common knowledge air traffic is restricted below the rim. Get your headline right.

The reason for the restrictions is because you are liable to end up a pile of junk on the canyon floor by reason of down drafts.

Swiss daredevil Yves Rossy said he scrapped his plan to fly over the Grand Canyon in a jet-propelled wing suit Friday morning because he didn't have enough time to train.
"If I do a mistake and half of U.S. television (is here), it's really bad for you, for me, for everybody," he told The Associated Press from Guano Point on the Hualapai Reservation, where spectators had planned to watch him soar through the air.
Rossy added he would still like to do the flight over Arizona's scenic wonder, but a new flight has not yet been scheduled.
