First time I read T.H.S I must say that I enjoyed Out of the Silent Planet and Perelandra more, 15 years later it was reversed. That Hideous Strenght was written in ‘45. The whole insidious build-up with the satanic institute slowly gaining power over the surrounding country-side could have been written 24 hours ago, I was amazed at how prescient it is.
