Although nobody has yet seen a primordial black hole, our knowledge of them comes from thinking about the processes that must have occurred shortly after the Big Bang.Since when did faith in something that is unobservable become a valid tool of science?

Not faith, confidence; a model that explains facts and allows predictions and is useful I have “confidence” in - faith is not necessary.
The Bohr atomic model is unobservable - yet it is a valid model in that it explains facts and allows prediction - it is thus a useful model.

...Still no cure for cancer.
...Knowledge that comes merely from thinking = imagination which is not knowledge. Knowledge comes from observation which comes from revelation.
