I wonder how they will fare in an ice storm?

Followed by some of those snowstorms we had last winter, where roofs were in danger. I wonder how much heavy snow those panels could take before...snap!

Badly. Also, they will not generate much power encrusted with bird droppings and dirt.

One thing that environmentalists do not take into account is the work (and pollution) involved in keeping solar panels clean.

And I would add: the first big wind storm will probably rip them right off the pole.
