It's all in the timing for the MSM. They got months of mocking Bush for his grades and then appeared to be playing fair by getting out the Dem grades at the last minute. But of course by then there was little time left to dwell on the Cs and Ds of Gore /Kerry.

It’s like we live under a new regime in nineteenth-century France (which is what my 1st / 2d Republic line is about. It’s the closest analogy I can find to the present political situation.
If the government has outright contempt for the constitution - and it does - then we’re living under a new government.
