Distraction=anything the libs find embarrassing to Barry and his crew of misfits. The real irony here is that liberals are famous for using sleight-of-hand to fool the public and yet now they are crying about distractions.

Sounds like Clinton when pressed about Monica Lewinski—”I did not have sex with that woman, Monica Lewinsky, not one time. Now I must get back to the work of the American people” or something like that. Just as Monica was a distraction, so is the BC. It is now a settled issue like global warming.

Ed Henry, CNN, he prefaced the question by saying his network had proven that Obama was born in the USA.

We should be appalled because the so called president won’t verify his identity. I can assure you Mr. .carney that I am no lunatic. I work with educated professionals - some voted for obama - and they are asking why he’s hiding his records.

Tell that jerk Carney to get Obama to show the long form birth certificate and we will shut up and start impeachment and removal of Obama!!!!! I despise everything that the Democrats stand for now!

Exactly. If it is a distraction, just produce the document and stop the issue dead in its tracks. We all know that any such release, if the document exists, would raise more questions than it answers.

Obama's personal narrative is where he is most vulnerable. The GOP establishment are fools for not pursuing this and other issues related to Obama's personal story, associations, records, etc. McCain wanted no part of it. I fear that is the case for the vast majority of potential nominees now.

Plenty of good issues on which to defeat Barack Obama. But his birth certificate isn’t one of them.

Yes, I’m truly appalled that we aren’t learning more about Michael Jackson and the royal wedding.

Yeah, if we had made such a fuss at the beginning, we would not be in this mess now. “A stitch in time saves nine.”

Ed Henry, an Obama toady. Notice how deferential and almost apologetic he was about asking the question. And the reaction of the other reporters was priceless. They first smirked and giggled and then looked on in horror as the question was asked. The Emperor's new clothes came to mind.

The absurdity of all this is laughable. Here we have these "journalists" willing to accept the word of an Hawaiian official or a CNN investigation rather than asking to see the primary source document. Instead, we hear the President's spokesman delcare how apalling this all is that the question is even being asked. For shame.

We can chew gum and walk at the same time. We can go after Obama's personal narrative as well as his policies.

I can recall some saying during 2004 that the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth should stop attacking John Kerry's phony war record. McCain called them "dishonest and dishonorable." The SBVFT saved the GOP's sorry ass.

What is amazing about this issue is that Obama is really hiding something that is butt ugly. Not that he was born in Kenya but more like his Daddy is not who he says he is and his name is not Obama. Or maybe it does report his religion as Muslim - how hilarious would that be! Or any number of hideous things from which he may be trying to protect his kids - but that’s too bad and I blame the press for letting him hide this as well as his school records. He is in politics, just like Obama got Senate candidate Jack Ryan’s divorce papers opened up to show that he was at sex clubs with his wife and thereby leave the race - so what is good for the goose is good for the gander. The liberal judge in California acknowledged the decree was sealed but he opened it anyway and said to Ryan -’you are in politics, and the people have a right to know.’ Well Barack, you are in politics and the people have a right to know. Let us see your college transcripts and let us see your birth certificate. The people have a right to know.

This is the the most whiney thin-skinned administration in US history.

“It’s an unfortunate distraction from the issues that I think most Americans care about,”

He’s right: I want to know WHEN WILL YOU BALANCE THE BUDGET?

(crickets)

“Care to ask another birther question instead?”
