The governing class in Washington has no excuse for not having addressed our spending issues and formulating a comprehensive federal debt retirement plan before we approached another debt ceiling threshold.
At every possible opportunity, politicians convince themselves that it's always better to kick the can down the road -- Democrats because they aren't remotely serious about debt reduction, Republicans because they're afraid of their own shadow.
Democrats don't need an excuse. It's a given that they would rather continue printing money and hurtle the nation toward financial bankruptcy in the name of compassion. They want to keep paying their constituents money we don't have for a few more years so that no one will have much in a few more years as the United States finally reaches European socialist status.
The Republicans do need an excuse to ignore their mandate -- and they always have one: "If we allow the government to shut down, the people will be furious and throw us out of office" or "We represent just one-half of one-third of the federal government."

If your counting on Boehner having a spine, I think he already conceded to the debt ceiling argument. “Raising the debt ceiling is the responsible thing to do” as stated on Hannity’s show two weeks ago. Remove Boehner in 2012 along with the muslim!
With the stupid “plan” the Republicans made up. 25 years??? Come on they are going to be creamed by the Rats. I guess the best we can hope for now shut it down.

We are seeing the results of 100 years of kicking the can down the road. The man is not at the door yet, but he just stepped onto the porch. Buy silver, gold, lead and seeds.
Totally agree. It’s time for the parents to cut up the credit card. Let the chps fall where they may.

I agree. However, it will almost certainly result in both civil war and world war.
“Come on they are going to be creamed by the Rats.”
Don’t be so sure. I just heard the ultimate dumb Dhimmi bimbo strategist on Lou Dobbs. What a lying hussy. Even Dobbs had to tell her to knock off saying that the pubbies are “threatening America with a default if the debt ceiling is raised.”
Amazing ignorance. If I were that bad, I wouldn’t even go out in public let alone run my mouth.
And her line is pretty much what all of them spew, some more crudely than others is all.
Have to think about world war, but civil unrest certainly.
And her line is pretty much what all of them spew, some more crudely than others is all.
It's not ignorance, it's propaganda and they are masters of it. They roll the Republicans every time with simple propaganda techniques that the Republicans are either too stupid to understand or to timid to confront.
They won’t, the leadership are pussies. Many others know this so they can just talk tough becaue they know the leadership are pussies and won’t do anything.
Time for the pubbies to start playing ‘Show me/ prove it’
24/7. never let up.
Then it’s propaganda based on ignorance. But that chick was possibly young enough to not know any better.
I would be ashamed to promote anything I was involved with that way. But of course the Dhimmis are shameless dirtbags.
I think they are going to the well one time too many this time with their old scare tactics playbook. People are genuinely paying attention this time. A lot more than in the past at any rate. I start up conversations wherever I go and I have been surprised at how aware the voters are compared to the past. I find hardcore ‘rats who make excuses for the Dems but I haven’t run into anybody who thinks we should “soak the rich” to balance the budget or that there is “plenty of money in America” a la Michael Moore. I spent all day in Moffitt Cancer Hospital today and I got into some excellent conversations with nurses and techs. Gas prices were the topic and from what I can see, people are onto the truth about easy money from the Fed, drilling restrictions, and a destroyer president being the problem more than “speculators” or “oil companies.”
I left there more hopeful about the voters than about my PET scan, to be truthful.
Let the Democrats prove that the IMF, S&P, and SS offices are in error.
Until then keep hammering them.
I want something to vote for - and I am sick and tired of voting for either dimocrat or dimocrat lite.
OK. But I bet the Republicans end up nominating Romney cause “his turn”. Of course McRomney is better than the Obamacrats but darn if anything will change. Rush says “Anything with an R in front”.
Well, if it came to that I’m sure I’d vote for him over Obama but Romney is such a wishy-washy flip-flopper-—how could we know what to expect?
