I've heard of LEOs tracking down pot growers by their electric bills and also by heat-detection from helicopters. Those grow-lights kick off a lot of thermal energy.

The real funny irony to this all is that the feds actually admit that certain CO2-emitting activities are true to their rant of warming the Earth, who would have thought smoking could be bad for the Earth?
