Reason.tv: Sandy Springs, Georgia - The City that Outsourced Everything April 12, 2011
While cities across the country are cutting services, raising taxes and contemplating bankruptcy, something extraordinary is happening in a suburban community just north of Atlanta, Georgia.
Since incorporating in 2005, Sandy Springs has improved its services, invested tens of millions of dollars in infrastructure and kept taxes flat. And get this: Sandy Springs has no long-term liabilities.
This is the story of Sandy Springs, Georgiathe city that outsourced everything.
Approximately 8 minutes.
Produced by Paul Feine and Alex Manning.
Since incorporating in 2005, Sandy Springs has improved its services, invested tens of millions of dollars in infrastructure and kept taxes flat. And get this: Sandy Springs has no long-term liabilities.
Wait until those contracts are up for renegotiation.
Out-sourcing means you now have to pay for the profits of the companies you outsourced to. Quite a few government entities are now facing this fact...and are actually de-privitizing
Privitization of government is just shifting socialism elsewhere. The only way to cut government is to cut government
Privitization is just Business Socialism

BS -
My town of 11,000 has one garbage man through a private group. He works 4 days here and 1 elsewhere.
When he’s gone we get a new one - no longterm pensions or other multiplied liabilities.
It’s the way it should work.
Didn’t watch the vid, right?
No pensions, no unions, and a growing capital expense fund.
Socialism not.
It would be interesting to compare the wages and benefit cost for SilverSpprings police and fire with that of neighboring Fulton Cty, and Atlanta..also ask them how they like it...I wonder if they have a waiting list for positions..
Besides keeping control of police and fire, they did not sell their water to a corporation. Smart.
