I got a feeling the GOP isnt popular here tonight, they are complaining about it at DU too.
My thoughts is that it’s nothing as bad as when TARP was passed, but it’s still a crappy deal for us.

Boehner fails. Ohio fails. They haven’t had anyone good since the Taft who died in 1953.

The House repubs can kill this thing next week...or tonight. Boehner should never have gone for “the best deal he could get.” He should have shut the thing down.
If they were willing to “give” here over an extra 20 billion, then they will never have the grit it takes to force the 6.8 trillion.
If the House repubs do not go for the deal in enough numbers, then the shutdown will occurr and Boener’s days as speaker will be over. They will try and talk them into going along, but the Freshmen/Tea party repubs need to vote a definitive, “No”, IMHO.
The American people wanted reps who wil stand firm...it is what they voted for IMHO in 2012. Bohner should have stood firm for the entire 61 billion at the very least, and made sure Palnned Parenthood was defunded.

$37 billion I'm pretty sure that's about one day's spending.

They just blew any future deficit reduction agenda items. What a bunch of spineless morons. Boehner HAS to go. And the rest who voted for this too.

the deal has not yet been published.
i’m going to reserve any comment when it is and iin the meantime i’m not going to bash Boehner- I’ll bash Harry Reid whose voice sounds like his testicles never descended.

NO, this is inevitable because Republican primary voters won’t retire worthless incumbents. Watch them renominate Hatch and Lugar in 2012, as they also resurrect Mittens.

Do you really think that once the government was shut down, that Obama would have any incentive to reopen it, as opposed to restructuring it by emergency powers?

If the bond market has half a brain then we don’t make it to 2012.

One would think that the people of Cincinnati would be embarrassed at this failed “leader,” but I suppose they will keep him there as long as he puts his name on a ballot. It’s all they know to do.
