"Air Force Secretary Michael Donley this week shed a tiny bit more light on the whole mystery surrounding the lack of an appearance by the F-22 Raptor in the skies above Libya during Operation Odyssey Dawn, saying the plane would have been used if it was needed.
"Donley told a reporter at a Tuesday morning breakfast in Washington that the plane would have flown in Libya if its capabilities were viewed as a requirement for the operation. When pressed for more on what capabilities were needed, he waited a few seconds before saying, 'multirole, maybe?'

Can someone name a nation who, in this decade, is our military “near peer” or “peer”?
Another unpopular truth is the 2009 Joint Operational Concept (U) which took an informed look at the threats facing us for the next 25 years stated that Irregular Warfare is the primary threat because no nation could face the US on near or totally level battlefield.
Any other questions as to why the AF’s premier air dominance fighter hasn't seen operational employment in Africa or the Mid East?
No questions here, I think you’ve covered it.
Deploying Raptors would only make sense if the US planned to sell some units and so wanted to take advantage of the extended ‘Farnborough Air Show’ conditions over Libya. Otherwise there’s nothing to gain and everything to lose.
Old Texas story. One riot, one Ranger.
Did we even employ F-15Cs? We did use F-15Es, which is the two seat strikefighter variant of the Eagle.
Just a little humor for Friday morning...
This thing is built for air superiority. I don’t reckon ole Gadfly sent any birds up for a little air 2 air. Why even put flight hours on these birds unless you need them for their intended mission?
Good one!
Waste of tax dollars?
