Qaddafi Sends A Letter To Obama Asking Him To Stop Airstrikes, Wishes Him Luck In 2012

Qaddafi has sent a rambling three-page letter to Obama imploring him to stop the airstrikes, according to the AP.

In the letter, sent Wednesday, Gadhafi says his country had been hurt more morally than physically by the NATO campaign and that a democratic society could not be built through missiles and aircraft. He also repeated his claim that his foes are members of al-Qaida.

Gadhafi addresses Obama as "our son" in the letter and says he hopes Obama will win re-election in 2012.

This isn't the first time he praised Obama or called him "our son." But the president hasn't returned the compliments.

Gadhafi, in letter, asks Obama to end air strikes

By MATTHEW LEE The Associated Press

Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi has appealed directly to President Barack Obama to halt what the Libyan leader called “an unjust war,” and wished Obama good luck in his bid for re-election next year.

In a rambling, three-page letter to Obama obtained Wednesday by The Associated Press, Gadhafi implored Obama to stop the NATO-led air campaign, which the Libyan called an “unjust war against a small people of a developing country.”

“You are a man who has enough courage to annul a wrong and mistaken action,” Gadhafi wrote in the letter that was sent to the State Department and forwarded immediately to the White House, according to a U.S. official who has seen the letter. “I am sure that you are able to shoulder the responsibility for that.”

“To serving world peace ... Friendship between our peoples ... and for the sake of economic, and security cooperation against terror, you are in a position to keep Nato (NATO) off the Libyan affair for good,” Gadhafi wrote.

White House press secretary Jay Carney confirmed that the White House received a letter from Gadhafi.

Congratulations are probably due to the oval office holder - he’s just begun his campaign, and this is his first official endorsement.

I’ve concluded a few weeks ago that Gadaffi hates Al Qaeda more than Obama.

Ah, but he also probably has the goods on Obama so Obama will not do anything to get him too mad.

This letter is probably a nice friendly reminder of what is at stake. A reminder of what Gadaffi knows and a suggestion for how Obama can justify leaving the current regime in power. Most likely the regime will tell Curt Weldon it’s going to reform and/or allow elections and then Obama can get out of this situation with his story intact and the AQ/Muslim Brotherhood folks still friendly with him, which is what Farrakhan was warning Obama about.

If Obama was an American this would be his response:

Dear MO-AM-R: You have a deal. All bombing will cease. In fact, we will help you knock off all the people that have been fighting against you. Just bring on the oil at $15.00 a barrel. We want all of it. Until you have no more.

So we can conclude:

1> Nato is putting the hurt on Kadaffi, and
2> Obama can not now call off “Obama’s war”, lest he be deemed to be in Kadaffi’s pocket, before the electorate.

I would like to know what the airstrikes are for? There doesnt seem to be any reason for them.

I'd recommend that diplomats be brought back home to their former careers in making milk shakes, but we need to keep more productive Americans in food service. ;-)

Prepare for much higher oil prices this summer and next winter.
