Rod Blagojevich asked Monday for notes from the FBIs interviews with President Barack Obama conducted during the agencys investigation of the former Illinois governor.
The ousted Democrat filed a motion in U.S. District Court on Monday morning, The Associated Press reported. Blagojevich made a similar request which was rejected ahead of his first trial last year.

The FBI notes, Blagojevichs attorneys say in the filing, could go directly to the heart of testimony of several government witnesses. One of those witnesses is Tom Balanoff, an Obama ally and the president of the Service Employees International Union Illinois Council, who said in testimony during the first trial that he spoke with Obama about the Senate seat in the days leading up to the 2008 election, the AP said.
The defense says the notes would almost certainly have been disclosed if the interviewee was anyone other than the president.

Blago should ask for the birth certificate too.
Yeah, he might as well. But he's as likely to get that as he is to get the notes that he is requesting.
But Obama was not President at the time he was interviewed.
Give him the damn notes. Why should he be the only fall guy?
one rat in the trap is enough for the media and the courts. Anymore and it would hurt obama.
I thought Blago threw in the towel on appeals weeks or months ago, pleading poverty. So what legal proceeding has precipitated this request? I’d love it if he were successful: it would put a newly elected Chicago mayor and POTUS in the hot seat.
