So how do we find the fanatics?
What do we do once we find them?
Maj Hassan at Ft Hood. Clearly we should have seen the warning signs. Clearly part of honesty is to drop political correctness, which at heart is just a form of dishonesty. Political correctness allowed the Ft Hood massacre.
But do all fanatics leave the obvious signs of a Maj Hassan?
I don’t have the answers. I have never known a Muslim fanatic.

Step One - you STOP PROTECTING THEM...just as you point out about Major Hassan. If we had that open talk about Islam, he would have been sent to the funny farm long before he got a chance to shoot up our best.
Step Two - you ADMIT that some types of people are pre-disposed to violence and terrorism. If they pray to Allah...then you treat EVERY ONE of them as a potential threat. When Muslims renounce and actually quit terrorism as a means to achieve their goals...you treat them just like Catholics.
Step Three - you RESPECT people that are frightened by the terroristic behavior of these people. If they want to lay out a carpet, stick their butts in the air, and start praying to Allah, at the airport...fine, but they MUST understand that they will scare people and that it might mean some serious body-cavity searches and missed flights. And no DAMN lawsuits.
So that’s a start.
