I believe it. Even here inside the D.C. Capital Beltway, which is the very heart of Obamaville, it’s getting harder and harder to find Obama bumper stickers, where not that long ago I was still seeing them almost every day. The thrill has definitely worn off.
They took them off out of embarrassment but I'll bet they STILL vote for him.
Can you imagine:
a) supporting a Democrat - any Democrat
b) supporting a candidate based on his race and/or exotic-sounding name
c) supporting a candidate because you fell for kindergarten-level one-word, one-syllable slogans like ‘hope’ and ‘change’
d) supporting a candidate who attempted to change the subject or lied outright when simple questions about his background and upbringing were raised
e) applying a sticker to your car for said candidate
f) believing, for a significant amount of time (months into years) that this candidate was up the the job and was effective in office
g) having to deal with the cognitive dissonance involved in realizing the chasm between the ideal and the reality
h) sheepishly creeping out to your vehicle in the twilight and removing said sticker
i) being a helpless enough ward of the state (via employment, welfare or both) that you have no idea how to remove the adhesive residue left over.
