State Sen. Diane Savino is relieved she can finally talk openly about her romance with state Sen. Jeff Klein, sources say, after Page Six first reported on their relationship last month. She was quoted saying recently of dinners in Albany, "Sometimes it'll just be me and Sen. Klein."

What is it with politicians in NY? The current mayor lives with his "girlfriend". The former mayor had several girlfriends. The last two governors got more action than a Hollywood movie star, and apparently the State House is littered with swingers and whatnot.

Diane Savino has dedicated her entire professional career towards improving the lives of working families. She began her career in public service as a caseworker for New York City’s Child Welfare Administration, providing direct assistance to abused and neglected children.

An active member of her local labor union, the Social Service Employees Union, Local 371, DC 37 of AFSCME, she quickly rose through the ranks to become the Vice President for Political Action & Legislative Affairs, where she became one of the most respected labor leaders in New York State.

As a labor activist, she actively and successfully campaigned for an increase in the minimum wage from $5.15 to $7.15—the first raise for New Yorkers in over a decade.

In addition, Senator Savino has championed legislation protecting hard-working New Yorkers, Paid Family Leave, which establishes up to 12 weeks of paid leave to care for a sick family member or newborn, Domestic Workers Bill of Rights, expanding basic worker protection rights to domestic workers, and a law that would limit public authorities from contracting out for services that can be performed by public employees.

Where’s the punch line? Are either of them already married? If not...then why does anyone care?

Vice President for Political Action & Legislative Affairs

I'd say she's become an expert at both.

IMO that is the life style promoted by the social revolution beginning in the 60’s and ongoing. Check out MTV, and other like popular shows, our educational system leans that way, etc. Anyone who speaks in opposition is made out to be a prude or religious fanatic.

We used to say hate the sin but love the sinner, now it is love the sin and the sinner, doncha know!!!

WHY on earth is this news? The article doesn’t mention anything about either of them being married, separated or whatever!!! I don’t get it.

Yeah, our state representatives have so much else on their minds (and other things) they don’t have time to pass a state budget on time or balance it ever. If you’ve heard of “tax and spend” in NY it is “tax and screw.”

Why not?

Seriously. If we say it's OK to be lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual, trans-gender and state these are socially acceptable “behaviors,” protected by the law and merit all the benefits of a traditional marriage, why not add them in too? All the arguments for the normalization of the LGBT community as a socially acceptable behavior and the push to have them attain the same status as the traditional marriage can be applied to all these polygamist, open marriage, etc types as well.

I like consistency.

And just how many black teenagers lost their minimum wage jobs when the minimum went to $7.15 an hour? They might not be so slavish in their admiration of Senator Savino.

Easy answer. “Progressives.” Followers of moral relativity.
People who don’t want to take responsibility for their actions therefore all actions are right.

My mistake. I was under the impression that Klein was married to someone else. He, apparently is not, or isn’t anymore.

This outlines an absolute textbook example of the Liberal definition of Morality.

Clearly to this crowd it is her POSITIONS on the ISSUES that count, not anything that she is actually doing in her life.

Or you are told basically to mind your own business.

Rebuking bad behavior or sin seems to be out of style, and even a sin in some people's minds.
