New Rules Would Label Millions of American Workers as Disabled
Fox News ^ | March 28, 2011 | Shannon Bream

Posted on 03/28/2011 11:09:16 PM PDT by george76

"Before, perhaps 40 million people were covered by the ADA. That number will increase significantly," McGlothlen told Fox News. "Some people might even say that a majority of Americans are covered as disabled under the law."

Overall, lawyers for employers say the regulations shift the burden of proof in disability claims.

They say that employers will now have to show why a worker doesn't require special accommodations, rather than employees proving that the measures are merited.

...

Barring congressional intervention, the new regulations will take effect May 24.

I need a beer tap installed in my office so I can think more clearly. I also need a couple of those Octoberfest girls to serve me my beer.

More assaults on business by the administration of “The Won” and his cronies. Big(ger) businesses will be able to absorb some of this, but it will eventually pinch them in the wallet, causing them to shed workers. Small(er) businesses will not, and this will instigate a wave of closures for businesses who can’t afford all the spurious claims and subsequent expenditures for “accomodations”.

This isn’t about making sure that people with real disabilities can get into the building. It’s about making sure ADA lawyers have an opportunity to rake in more profit by convincing clients that they really *need* that Hermann Miller chair or they’ll just die.

"I am hopeful that employers will now move to the next question which is, 'How do we make sure our workplace is welcoming to people with a range of health conditions?'" she told Fox News.

O, wonder!
How many goodly creatures are there here!
How beauteous mankind is! O brave new world,
That has such people in't!

“I am hopeful that employers will now move to the next question which is, ‘How do we make sure our workplace is welcoming to people with a range of gender conditions?’” she told Fox News.

She/hes, He/shes, dog/men, cat/women, who can keep up?
But the government says they all have to have a place
to work...and for some....a litter box.

This change will assure that no one with a perceived difference/disability will ever be hired again.

I recall reading the opinion some years ago that the disability act would inevitably lead to those afflicted with innumeracy being hired as mathematics professors. I suppose we’re nearing that point.

Yes, Caterpillar would be required to hire a second CNC machine operator to operate the machine for the “disabled” guy who is unable to operate it correctly.

Accomodation. Pay two people to get one job done.

Two M’s in ‘accommodate’ !

When I meet Saint Peter at the Gate, that’s what I plan to say, “Two M’s in accommodate!” ... I figure I’ll go right in.

If the “disabled” are the majority, that makes them the “new normal”.

That means THEY will have to accommodate the likes of ME, by staying the heck out of my sight, hearing, or smelling: I'm deathly allergic to freeloaders, deadbeats, and goldbricks.

They cause me to break out in uncontrollable fits of apoplexy, leading to wildly flailing limbs...which sometimes connect violently with vital parts of their worthless carcasses.

No more German girls for me. I've gone strictly Italian from now on.

Someone needs to forward this to Bush-41. He’s the one who turned Wheelies into a newest Entitlement Class.

Government won’t stop until all of us are dependent on it. These things are merely a means to an end and in the end, it’s control they want.
