Was sitting in an outfit on a back road a number of years ago, late at night, with some friends, when a red light appeared in the sky off to the left.
From our angle and distance it appeared to be moving slowly in our direction.
We couldn’t figure it out.
Until it touched down on a hillside and started a wildfire.
Seems some of the local kids had gotten their hands on a parachute flare.
We moseyed on over and helped try to put the fire out. With about 90% of the other local residents.

It's pretty obvious that what we have here are 3 European swallows who have been trained to fly in formation, covered in red-burning magnesium dust, ignited, then photographed.
Happens all the time.
Not very sporting, but it does get you written up in The Mail.

yah....we had a similar incident here a couple of weeks ago and it turned out to be nothing more than a guy with a kite that had LED lights on it.
