Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Sunday that the U.S. would not intervene militarily in Syria as it is doing in Libya, and drew a distinction between Libya's Muammar Qaddafi and Syria's Bashar Assad. The latter, she explained, is seen by congressmen from both parties as “a reformer.”
“What’s been happening there the last few weeks is deeply concerning," she told CBS's Face the Nation regarding Syria, "but there’s a difference between calling out aircraft and indiscriminately strafing and bombing your own cities," as Qaddafi has done, and the violence by the Assad regime, which merely amounted to "police actions which, frankly, have exceeded the use of force that any of us would want to see.”
Clinton said that the circumstances that preceded the intervention in Libya -- international condemnation, and resolutions by the Arab League and United Nations Security Council -- are “not going to happen” regarding Damascus.
Even as Clinton explained the fine differences between Qaddafi and Assad, videos from Al-Sanamayan, near Daraa, appeared to document a massacre of civilians as it occurred.

Her first instinct was probably to refer to Assad’s police actions as “merely community organizing”, but then thought better of it.
Assad is a “reformer”??? Is he making his daddy’s dictatorship a more efficient terrorist state?
I still feel like I’m in a dream...haven’t yet come to the reality that Hillary Clinton is actually in charge of United States International relations.
Hillary has, over the years, become a robot. She has lost any real sense of self or who she is as a person. She just robotically does what she is told, mouths the words, and others do the thinking for her. Sad, really.
Now it begins. Why we will not take out Syria. “ Well Libya is ok, But Carne Assada is a Reformer”! We are living in the Twilight Zone.
They need Assad. He is aiding and arming Hezbollah in Lebanon. They are the boots on the ground in the assault on the Jews.
After all his help in destroying Bush’s image, they owe him big. Just wait till we find out where the WMD’s are really stored. LOL.
I want to know which GOP squishes have called Assad a ‘reformer’.
It blows my mind that so many people think Hillary is “the Smartest Woman in the World”. Maybe next to Obama, she looks brilliant, but that’s where it stops. I wouldn’t trust her to administer a Dog Pound, let alone US foreign policy.

So then why did Obama and Hillary say Mubarak had to go? (Clue: Mubarak was an ally of the US and had a peace treaty with Israel.)
This is about painting Israel into a corner where it must give all land back or go to war. Either way, the Islamists are happy, the left has destroyed Israel, and the global elite makes even more money on oil than ever before.

Also, while you "would not want to see" the use of such force, I'll bet you would use it, and much more, if we peasants were revolting...and I know you find us revolting.
Slos, in such a case, would you consider it an internal matter; or would you welcome Canada or Mexico, or NATO intervening to curb YOUR viloence?
