Great story and good judgement by all. I hope the Police explained to the jerk just how lucky he was to still be alive. Had this young lady had her CW on her when he charged she would have been right to defend herself. But good for her to have a backup in hand!

I’ve been looking into adding several cans of pepper spray along wsith some other less than lethal ammo to my emergency stores, but there are so many products out there it’s almost impossible to make a reasoned decision based on nothing more than the advertising alone.

If you were looking to buy multiple cans of the most effective and legal self-defense spray made, what would you buy?

Has anyone else stocked 12 Gage beanbag rounds and any of the other like less than lethal shotgun products??

How about pepper balls for a paintball gun?? If you’re just trying to repel a group of people you could put a lot of encouragement on them quickly that way.

Every bit of prior preparation you make is worthwhile. You never know what might come in handy some day and save you from using your last resort.

"Less than Lethal"

Do you understand that when a LEO uses/deploys less that lethal force, that he has other officers beside and behind him with firearms drawn?

Wasp and Hornet spray is super effective at disabling any aggressor, being it feral animal or human. It will spray a stream out to twenty feet and when it hits the facial area, it blinds and disorients the aggressor.

I keep a can in a bookcase next to my door. I also carry a Ruger SP 101 357 while at home and also have a 12 ga. pump within reach. I've been prepared for more than twenty years and have never had to resort to using them for protection, but they are kept ready. Just like a paid up insurance policy.

At Home Depot or the equivalent they sell a spray that allows you to spray wasp nests from like 20 feet away so you don't have to go near them, or if their in the eaves in your two story house or whatever. You get a whole aerosol can for like 6 bucks. MUCH cheaper and MUCH better standoff range than "official" personal protective sprays.

Plus...if you have a can of wasp spray in the car and you end up using it on a [human] pest, it just looks like you used what you had to hand.
