How Khadafy can win
NY Post ^ | March 25, 2011 | KEN ALLARD

Moammar Khadafy can survive and even prevail over the vastly more pow erful and technologically advanced NATO-led coalition. To do so, the Libyan dictator can not only exploit the inherent weaknesses of any coalition, but even turn NATO's technologies into a weakness.

From the Navy's Top Gun to the Army's OPFOR (Opposing Force), the US military systematically trains to think like its enemies -- to anticipate how the enemy will try to overcome US advantages, pitting his strengths against our weaknesses.

This classic "Red Hat versus Blue Hat" analysis begins by comparing objectives. The United States and NATO want to leave as soon as possible; Khadafy's goal is to survive by outlasting the US/NATO assault. Thus, his real advantage is time. Anything he can do to delay concensus or deepen his opponents' doubts helps his cause.

He'll also seek to encourage dissention within the coalition. This is a realistic objective when facing a notoriously fractious alliance -- the joke that NATO also stands for "Not After Two O'clock" is an old one.

To exploit NATO's well-known preference for "command by committee," Khadafy can simply avoid any decisive battle.

He could even retreat from Tripoli and carry on the fight as an insurgent. Libya may lack Afghanistan's caves, but the desert offers many opportunities for concealment and deception against forces limited to remote control from neighboring skies and seas.

Urban enclaves along the coast offer near-perfect battlegrounds where a pro-Khadafy insurgency can fight to regain control of Libyan loyalties. By relying on dispersal, camouflage and misdirection to mask attack preparations, a Khadafy-directed insurgency might even force NATO to react swiftly to multiple provocations, something it has never done particularly well.

I heard that we're in the last days of this phase. I think that's why the bombing seems to have increased. No coincidence that Obama's waiting to tell the American people, the children and wives of our brave military over there at work now exactly what's going on... he's waiting until monday hoping for this phase to complete to see what he has and can say.

Putting the wives and children of those involved in Libya on hold until monday.

But if there were an earthquake or flood in part of Iran or Cuba you'd see Obama rushing to the TV cameras to make a speech about how sorry he is for them.

The question is not how can he win.

The question is, how can he lose?

When facing an enemy who is too afraid of you to use ground forces, there are many options. What is Zero going to do when the terror attacks in the USA begin?

“he’s waiting until monday hoping for this phase to complete to see what he has and can say.”

He’s going to have a lot of ‘splainin’ to do. Didn’t NATO just announce this operation would last at least 3 months? What happened to “days” or even “a few weeks?” Either Obama lied or is entirely impotent in providing any leadership to this war by committee.

“There are no US Troops on the ground in Laos.” So said the Nixon Admin.-1971...

“His target is far less difficult but more transitory: our leaders’ willpower.”

If all QDaffy has to do is beat POTUS’s willpower, our defeat is inevitable. By preemptively declaring U.S. ground troops would not be involved, that the mission would last only “days” and that he expected someone else in the coalition of the unwilling to take charge, Obama has already provided strong signals that he doesn’t have the cojones for this fight.

Do you think we'll end up going in there?

I mean, if things got real bad and the place blows up without a leader and the world starts seeing people dying and a Somalia type scenario between different groups. I would assume there's a tipping point where Obama would feel obligated to send in the troops. I know it's all hypothetical right now and I hope we are successful in killing Gadaffi and a government gets installed that's much better and pro-American than that in Egypt today but I'm just wondering what others think will happen and how it will turn out.

Will Obama lose this and things go bad?

Or will NATO with the help of our military prevail and all turns out good?

This was a perfect Rope A Dope by the Russians and fellow travelers.
They already had the Crusades line ready to play on cue.
Now that Our Dear Leader has played his hand, he cannot move he has few options for any of the other eruptions .

hat is Zero going to do when the terror attacks in the USA begin?

That would fit perfectly with his plans to terrorize who he sees as his true enemies. Americans. Real Americans, not leftist tools.
