OMG! I expect that George Washington, John Adams, et al., are spinning in their respective graves now. I’m so ashamed of this country.

Yes. It’s repulsive...

You’re ashamed but just remember: Michele Obama is, for the first time, proud of this country.

No, I don't think they are. Back in the day, gays were just as prevalent. The difference today is they want absolution from the Church to say it's okay. You are what you are, but don't expect to get a free pass from a true Christian church. You can always find a Protestant church that doesn't require a Priest to give absolution of sins to receive Holy Communion, i.e. "open Communion". It never would have come up when I was a Protestant. Gays lived quietly and went to church on Sundays, if they so desired. I'm positive they received communion if they were sitting in the pew on Communion Sunday, and that was that.

Now, homosexuals want public validation of their life-style by the Catholic Church and it simply isn't going to come in the form they want. If there are civil provisions for these committed gays, then I say good on all of us for our tolerance, but don't expect a high-five from Catholics or a hired sky-writer to spell it out in the Heavens. Ain't gonna’ happen. Forget about it.
