In all things, moderation. Getting sauced one day out of the year isn’t a big deal. Now if you do it 365 days out of the year, that’s a whole other kettle of fish.
In many ways, I have to think this is part of the point. For many Jews, doing this on the other 364 other days isn't cool. (the Jewish calendar doesn't really work like that, but hey, its the thought that counts.)(We are actually doing a leap year this year and this is the second month of Adar.)(This happens each 3 years, more or less)(More accurately 7 times each 19 years)
