Here's an example of a former newspaper man correcting a politician's claim -- and his correction requiring a correction.
Appearing on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" on Monday, MSNBC's Chris Matthews offered kneejerk condemnation of Mike Huckabee saying President Obama grew up in Kenya as "racist," an assertion Huckabee had acknowledged as inaccurate.
Matthews piled on, making his own demonstrably false claim in the process (video after page break) --
LENO: OK, how about Huckabee?
MATTHEWS: He gives a bad name to empty suits.
LENO: What happened to Huckabee? He's talking, what's all this ...?
MATTHEWS: Huckabee, he's one of these guys that comes off as nice. He's, you know, a reverend and a minister and all this. He's out there selling that Barack Obama grew up with the Mau Maus in Kenya.
.... followed by Matthews making an incoherent, apropo-of-nothing, self-congratulatory plug for his stint in the Peace Corps

Matthews is so deeply embedded into BHO’s derrier, it would take a proctologist to extricate him.
The real scary part is we now have people like Rep Allen West who sides with Chrissy Matthews on the Obama Birther issue

Obama has won! Anybody that questions it is instantly demonized beyond repair it seems.
We lost in that regard. Do we want Sarah Palin to demand the birth certificate and commit political suicide in the process?
He is hiding something for sure! Birth, school records etc, but it`s a losing issue.
If Obama can be outed it will have to be done by folks outside of the political arena.

This the same Chris Matthews that said the Panama Canal was in Egypt?
If and when facts come out to clearly show Obama was not a "natural born citizen", it will not change the reality that Rep. West has embraced that, for now, it is better to spend ones time and energy trying to defeat Obama's policies than beating ones head against a wall decrying his lack of Constitutional legitimacy.

A proctologist driving a tractor a full throttle with chains connected to the idiot’s feet might, just might get him outa there.
The media owns the issue that is why. When the "birther" issue comes up there should be a firm statement made regarding it.
The reason there are so many birthers is because there are so many incompetent journalist presstitutes with their lips surgically attached to Obama's rearend. After three years not one journalist can tell you what hospital Baby Barack was born in or the name of the doctor who delivered him!
That is all that needs to be said.
I can respect your view for correcting what is going on. However. in my view there is a much wider question as to living by our Constitution. You take your one road view relative to policies but as for me I want every road taken that leads to reversing the damage being done by Obama and his enablers. There are enough people in this Nation to go on every road that serves that purpose. My hope is for your road to lead to success and for the ‘birther’ road to bring a quicker resolution of what I think is a common objective.
