My fear is the same people who put McCain up there (again) will put Romney up there leading to an Obama win. It is almost like they have decided already and what the people say means nothing. I am sorely dissapionted in DeMint.

You don't "lower health care costs" by pushing your own version of socialism. I'm sorry to burst your bubble.

That's why I only was with DeMint in stating the desirability of lowering health care costs, not the socialism. You can be against socialism without descending to the "let them eat cake" track. Conservatism should not equal heartlessness. I'm for more Ronald Reagan and less Ayn Rand in conservative mindset.

If Sen DeMint doesn’t understand that government involvement in healthcare delivery restricts market forces, then he belongs nowhere near any leadership position in either the Senate or Executive office. Period.

Government has been involved in health care delivery for almost half a century now. I don't see that fixing some of the problems they created to begin with is moving us any closer to full socialism than we already are. If we don't make an effort to lower the costs of health for all Americans, the other side will one day move in with real full socialized medicine and not this watered-down Obamacare variety.

If Hillary doesn’t run against Baraq in the Dem primaries, you’ll see Dems go big for Romney in open primary states.
They know a Romney nomination will incite a Tea Party challenger and a potential Baraq win with a Clintonian plurality.

Let the candidates declare, line up and let the chips fall where they may. I will vote for the last candidate standing providing that candidate wins fairly and isn’t “annointed”.

The only major difference that I can see is that Romneycare took place in a state rather than at the level of fedzilla.

“Oh, Pissant, your challenger has feet of clay!”

This is another thread we won't see Pissant on. He is not having a good week. First Michele Bachmann not knowing her U.S. history and now this.

“Precious” keeps clearing the bases and the “wannabes” keep striking out.

I’ve got DeMint $100 event tickets for sale for $0.10 cents. Any takers?

Looks like RomneyCare was just the ticket for DeMint. He’s politically DOA.

All that’s left is the dead cat bounce.

Socialism is socialism.

HillaryCare led to attempts to come up with HillaryCare Light at the Heritage Foundation, which led directly to RomneyCare, which ultimately led to ObamaCare.

Same old story: Democrats propose to tear down the Washington Monument, and the Republicans respond with a plan to do it in three stages.

I will go with a 3rd party. Tea or Libertarian. Whiglicans can keep him.

I’m afraid the GOP is falling back to their old tricks of the “next in line syndrome”. They think Romney will be the most palatable, but when he’s nominated(hoefully not), the SRM will tear him and the GOP to pieces......again

Thinking that you're dead on with that thought.

The wisdom of our founding fathers comes to the forefront, again.

They intended the individual states to have great freedom when it came to exploring possible solutions to problems affecting them both individually and collectively.

Some Congress Critters have decided, without the support of most of America, that the lack of health care for everyone is a problem. I have no problem with that.

In at least two states, Massachusetts and Tennessee, they have attempted a centrally managed health care program that covers everyone. In both cases these programs haven't provided the promised level of care, at the promised costs, and have adversely impacted out sectors of the health care sector.

I take my hat off to those who have attempted something like this. I reward all others who link their support to these failed programs with a Bronx cheer.

Bottom line - we have had two failures of the same concept in two widely separated states. That should be enough to terminate any nation wide program. Anyone attempts to tell me that they have “solved” the problems with centralized health care is lying to me and wants more of my money for his personal use.

Enough said!

Yeah, very disappointing regarding DeMint. I thought the guy had half a clue. Guess I was wrong.
