We give through our church because I KNOW where our money is going and how it is used. I KNOW that it is not going to pay some liberal’s huge admin salary. I feel for what has happened to the people in Japan. BUT, I wonder just why the United States is going to send millions of dollars to a country to help rebuild it, when they have as much as we do since we send billions there every year to buy their stuff. Japan is not a 3d world nation. They have big money in their banks. Their companies and government have money. They have large money making corporations. Why is the USA going to once again the only country around the globe who is supplying assistance, the Navy for support, and our people sending millions to assist them? How much did the people of Japan send to New Orleans? Just wondering on that one. Of course each individual is free to give if they want, but I still don't understand our tax dollars going to rebuild a country that has trillions in the banks. To me, this is like Bill Gates house burning down and then asking the people of the country to give to him to help him rebuild it.
