>>Samaritan’s Purse is already on the ground.

It’s great to get a public school to support them with money though, snicker!

Thanks for everything, DoughtyOne!

It is so encouraging to see the big variety of church groups already on the ground and moving in with compassionate aid. They're about 1,000% more efficient than any government, and they come with Faith, Hope, Love and Prayers most pleasing to our Great and Sovereign Lord.

"I have come that they may have Life, and have it more abundantly." -- Jesus Christ

The other ‘hand in the till’ to worry about is liberal elite non-profits. They advertise for relief for Haiti - then spend the majority of the money for ‘on-going projects’.

You're right about the Haitians camps - hellholes - little or nothing was done for the people other to enslave them in rape camps... That won't happen in Japan.

The SALVATION ARMY is the best international charitable organization out there. They may have originated as Christian missionary organization, but they are now more about helping people in dire need.
Disclaimer: I'm an agnostic, so I don't care either way about their faith-based history.

However, I do know that more of your $$$ will go directly to Japan's situation then the Red Cross, and they won't hoard nor re-direct your donations to their pet causes.

Ever since the Red Cross had to be shamed into finally disbursing the donations for 9/11 families by the modern media, I no longer trust them. Sure, they do good, but they have high salaried people at the top and other expensive administrative costs. You probably get about 97% of your dollar going where you designate it with the SALVATION ARMY. Great organization and never heard a bad word about them.

Certainly the LDS is working wth suffering Japanese like most other faiths and denominations and I’d be real surprised if anyone is checking religions as a pre-req

Wow. I've known you on FR for years and never knew you had those problems. Good for you for getting squared away and good for the SALVATION ARMY.

Now, if only you could break your sex addiction. Har!

Thank you very much for all the feedback.

Salvation’s Army and Samaritan’s Purse, it is. Can’t remember ever hearing a negative thing about either. Red Cross, however...

The Salvation Army, Southern Baptist Convention, and other disaster relief organizations partner with the American National Red Cross. The Red Cross helps provide funding and supplies for many of these groups.

I think it is necessary. The Japanese do not elect muslims to destroy their country, do not have thug union scum like the USA, does not have drooling morons in front of Obama TV which keeps him in power. They do not support a muslim after muslims murdered 3,000 Americans less than 7 years before 2008.

America anymore is a disgrace.

You have people here stupid enough to say the Saudis are our allies and that the Federal Reserve is not evil. Geithner is a liar and you are a fool to believe anything the US govt or judiciary tells you because they are totally corrupt.

The Salvation Army is the single best charity in America.

I agree. I also used to see them all over Japan when I was doing my business travel there. They do have an international fund where you can specify Japan/Tsunami relief.

And I am so glad you are "back", Laz. Takes guts and strength. Keep on, keeping on, guy!!

Thanks for pinging on his DTogo-san.

I fondly remember the "Sally Ann" with their red kettles on the Ginza late in December. The uniforms, playing of the coronet etc reminded me of how they used to be here in the 40's.

"They have Trillions of dollars, so much so that any extra aid the USA offers them, will probably have to be borrowed from Japanese or Chinese in the first place!!"

Actually, they have the biggest debt crisis of any industrialized nation after trying to spend their way out of "The Lost Decade".

That is a small comfort for those of us with family members in Sendai and the surrounding area.

Faith-based organizations are the best.

The best thing though, as one of the posters have said, is to pray.
