There is something terribly wrong with this sentence, with all due respect to Mr. Steyn.
Although, knowing his genius, he may have meant that. :)

It never occurred to me he DIDN’T mean it to be a terrible sentence, conveying a terrible image image—it’s just not as terrible as passively accepting clitoridectomies.
