I started my steps towards Conservatism in the mid-late 1980’s, when I was at college. The issue then was “divestment” from South Africa, which was the issue for hippies and assorted leftists at the time.
I didn’t care much about Government at the time, but just “went with the flow” - so attended a rally or two on campus. I was disgusted by the flea-bag hippies in attendance - few actually attended my university . I found their chants and slogans to be brainless cliches, and doubted the logic of how my small university selling their few shares of IBM or whoever was doing business in South Africa would have any influence at all.
Since then I see the same nonsense repeated year after year. Now it is Wisconsin.

I had a manufacturing plant in J berg SA and had about 120 employees, mostly black. I was training about 30 of them in welding and machining and another 8 in management. Then along came the do-gooders and cought off funds to SA - ending up closing the plant - no more training. same thing happened to the auto makers. sicne then SA and J burg has gone down hill, and now J berg is one of the most violent cities.
Thanks Libs.
