Oh yes, I am well inland on the east side of the Coast Range. We are not in any danger from Tsunami. Now, if the Cascadia fault system lets go... oh man. It will be like Northern Japan only worse. THEY are far better prepared than we are. With all the unreinforced masonry buildings in the Pacific North West... yea... it would be REALLY bad. Not to mention ever bridge impassible... yea. If you live on the west side of Portland, you do NOT want to be caught to be on the East side if a big one hits. You REALLY do not want to be on the north of the Columbia. It could take you weeks to get home.

The damage on certain areas of the coast with points extending out into the pacific sufferd a lot of damage in the harbors. A lot of damaged boats and docks. It could have been a LOT worse.

I have been watching the news pretty closely. Pray for Japan. The job they have ahead of them is massive. Simply monstrously massive.
