Tokyo just got smacked hard. Still feeling tremors. Refrigerator broken, glass everywhere. I'm safe.

Looking at the USGS site, the aftershocks are hitting all over the place. Some quite close to the coast. All 5+ magnitude and up.

Funny thing is that guy was out with his cell phone doing a better job showing the damage around his neighborhood than the big time news agencies.

Wow... haven’t seem many images or video, but what I have seen was truly shocking. The tsunami on to of the rubble will make finding victims and bodies almost impossible. Some many never be found.

Oh my lord! CNN just reported that the wave went up to 60 miles inland!

60? SIXTY MILES? I can't imagine that's possible...even 6 miles would be hard to grasp.

The government has declared an emergency situation as a precaution but there was no radioactive leakage and no damage from the cooling problem was expected at this stage

Color me skeptical.

The entire island is only 60 miles wide near Sendai so I think someone made a mistake.
