GLOBAL warming may push sea levels rises to the upper limit of current projections and temperatures above previously anticipated levels, Julia Gillard's top climate change adviser has warned. Ross Garnaut today issued a pessimistic assessment of likely climate change effects, suggesting recent updates to climate science showed previous research may have underestimated the effects of increasing levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
Professor Garnaut flagged the "awful reality" that global political leaders may have to go further than the emissions reduction targets they have been aiming for in international negotiations.
(snip)
"There is increasing discussion in the legitimate scientific literature of the possibility that large damage will occur at smaller increases in global temperatures," Professor Garnaut said.

Heh, there you go - - when the science turns against you and indicates smaller than hoped-for (by the alarmists) temperature increases, just PUMP UP the damage estimate!
Yeah, that's the ticket!
Carbon dioxide ping.
“There is an awful reality that no major developments in the science hold out realistic hope that the judgments of the 2008 review erred in the direction of overstating the risks of climate change,” he writes.”
I’m not dead yet...lol
And, LOL at me for reading the article. ;o)
He's a Professor of Economics
I'm holding my breath for the day when a "top climate change advisor" does anything other than exaggerate the effects of climate change.
Ross Garnaut, "Double? You bloody wanker! Quadruple Down! Quadruple Down now!!"
Don’t you just love these MAY headlines?
Here. Let me try it. “Carbon dioxide may be good for women and children.”
“Obama may not be eligible to be president.”
“Muslims may be the worst thing since the plague.”
Wow, I may actually like writing headlines. When you use MAY, no one can really argue with you since you can always say, “I’m not really sure. That’s why I used MAY. I MAY be wrong, too.”
HEY IM NOT sayin nary a good word about this gawd awful...poisonous C O TOO stuff it’s terrible and the more terrible we make it the more a them million dollar no strings attached grants come a slidin under our doors thanks to them dumb ole taxpayers we all managed to terrify up.....fair dinkum?

What do you expect from a group of people who’s favorite
holiday is May Day?
Carbon dioxide is not a pollutant.

Because a sea level rise of 1 millimeter per year, far below IPCC predictions, is clearly CATASTROPHIC!!!!
Growing grain and grapes in Greenland would really suck.
You make an excellent point there.
